Shipping & Freight Delivery Policy
At SurfingCats, we specialize in delivering heavy-duty and oversized adventure gear, including our premium roof-top tents, across Canada. Because of the size and weight of these items, they cannot be shipped via standard parcel services (like Canada Post). Instead, we utilize premier Canadian LTL (Less-Than-Truckload) Heavy Freight Carriers to ensure your order arrives safely.
Here is everything you need to know about our specialized shipping process:
1. 100% Canadian Shipping – No Hidden Fees
As a proudly Canadian owned and operated business based in London, Ontario, all of our orders are shipped directly from domestic warehouses within Canada.
-
Zero Cross-Border Fees: You will never have to worry about surprise import duties, customs clearance delays, or brokerage fees.
-
Clear Pricing: What you see at checkout is exactly what you pay.
2. Processing & Transit Times
-
Order Processing: Once your order is placed, it typically takes 1–3 business days to prepare, secure onto a custom shipping pallet, and dispatch from the warehouse.
-
Transit Times: Depending on your location within Canada, freight shipping usually takes 3–7 business days to arrive after dispatch. (Remote locations or Northern Territories may require additional transit time).
3. The Scheduled Delivery Appointment (Crucial)
Because roof-top tents are delivered via large freight trucks, a signature from an adult is required upon delivery.
-
Phone Notification: Once the shipment arrives at your local carrier terminal, the freight company will call you directly at the phone number provided at checkout.
-
Appointment Scheduling: They will arrange a specific, mutually agreed-upon delivery date and time window (e.g., Monday between 9 AM and 1 PM).
-
Delivery Day: Please ensure someone is present at the delivery address during this scheduled window to inspect and sign for the package.
4. Curbside Delivery & Inspection
-
Freight deliveries are strictly Curbside Delivery. This means the truck driver will lower the palletized shipment to the ground at the end of your driveway using a liftgate. Drivers are not authorized to move the shipment into your garage, backyard, or onto your vehicle.
-
Mandatory Inspection: Before signing the driver's delivery receipt (Bill of Lading), you must visually inspect the packaging for any signs of damage. In the extremely rare event of severe damage to the product itself, please note "Damaged upon receipt" on the form, refuse the shipment, and contact our support immediately.
Thank you for choosing SurfingCats. We look forward to fueling your next great Canadian expedition!
